Not Happy With Me
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about my hip giving me problems and being really tight. Well, we worked on it then and it got better for a couple of weeks. It acted up again on Tuesday, and I learned my lesson I'm out of the gym, with the exception of the pool for the next week. Last time I didn't take any time off we just decreased my activity. Anyway, I'm out of the gym for a week. My massage therapist works Mon-Wed so Tuesday night I called up and was able to get for Wed afternoon.
When I got in there and she realised just how tight my hips were, she FREAKED out. Not on me but my trainer. She wanted to know how long he had been qualified and what his qualifications were. She was thinking that I had been training incorrectly and had done some serious damage to myself. When she found out just how good he is she relaxed and realised that it was just that I've been working really really hard.
Based on her reaction to my trainer I thought I was going to get in when she realised that it was me working really hard that caused me worse for wear. However, she didn't. I think that's because of a friend of mine. He's also a client of hers, he's the one who recommended her to me. Anyway, I think there's been some talk about me and just how big I was not so long ago. I haven't asked him but the next time I do I think I will and if so I owe him a huge thank you for saving me from her wrath.
The worse part of the massage was she put a couple of suction cup dart things on my hip and then proceeded to move them up and down my hip & thigh. OH MY GOD!! I thought I was dying. I was whimpering like an injured dog. Maybe that's why she didn't verbalise her anger at me she knew she would be able to get her frustrations at me out through that torture device. It was the first time I'd ever had that done to me.
My Hip is much much better, I spend some time Thursday in the pool and hot tub so that always helps too. Today I'm going off to join all the other grandma's in the water aerobics class. Even though it means showing off all the bruises on my hip. This morning when I woke up (2 days after the massage) it looks like I don't have a hip, just a mass of blue & purple.
NOTE: Yes, realised is spelled properly. It's the Australian way to spell it.
