The Continuing Computer Saga

What's the point of offering an extended intrnational warranty if when the time comes for it to be acted upon the company is ill prepared for it? I finally got some sort of an answer from the computer shop. The part that was on back order two weeks ago when I took it in thta was to be in on Monday now wont be here for 5-6 weeks. That makes it 8 weeks without my computer. The problem is supposed because the computer is North American and that the part has to come from there.

This is not the 19thC when everything had to be send here by boat. Put the part on the airplane and send it over here, better yet, make sure that the warehouse has parts for all of the computers offered. Especiialy since the world is becoming more global and people are travelling through out the world. Isn't that why you offer an international warranty? So that if people have problems with their computers while overseas it can be fixed?

Needless to say you are not the first I have bitched too about this. There was my father, my best friend, the computer repair shop, the Australian HP service centre. Not to mention the Canadian HP service center and the store where I purchased the computer. I don't care about the long distance fees to call Canada they are going to hear about this. The reasoan I went with HP was cause I know people who had problems will Dell laptops. Now here I am on the other side of the world with a dead useless computer. I should have gone Dell, they would have atleast replaced the compoter. HP wont do that until I have had the same problem 3 times. God forbid. I sure as hell hope that I don't have to go through this ever again much less 3 more times to get it repaired.

I have been told that every cloud has a silver lining I guess the one for this is that at least it happened after I had finished all my major papers and that I only lost about a chapter and a half of textbook notes, unlike the last time when I lost 2 major papers. And hopefully by the time the next semester starts I will have my computer back.
