Deja Vu

For an hour yesterday I thought I was back in my Chinese Politics class at Brock. You're probably thinking I must be on something if I got that confused. Not at all!

One of my seminars for the politics class was on farming practices. Needless to say as being from a farming family not to mention spending 2 years at Guelph studying agriculture, the seminar leader had to pretty much duct tape my mouth shut to allow anyone else to contribute to the conversation.

Yesterday's seminar was the same thing. After class the group leader asked me to stay behind. He wanted to know what happened. Why had I dominated the conversation? And more importantly why did I 'go after G-----' (the class brain) He couldn't figure out how toxic food could kill the animals and result in the project going under. So I set him straight. By the time the class ended my seminar leader was wishing he had some duct tape to shut me up.

Needless to say I got lots of participation points. Although I think I may have created a monster as now the leader may be expecting this kind of participation from me all the time. That will be interesting to see how it will play out as the entire class is your stereotypical over-achievers. No doubt yesterday's performance from me will motivate some of the others for the seminar. If that turns out to be the case, then it will be a repeat of another past presentation when I had a teacher after the series of presentation were over thank me for the presentation I had done as it had motivated the rest of the group to make better presentations. Anyway, I'm rambling. Whatever happens is going to happen and there is no point worrying or trying to figure out what may or may not happen.

It's interesting to see that history does repeat itself not just on a large global scale but on a personal one as well.
