War Wounds

I knew I wasn't too thrilled about running. Today proved it. This morning I overslept so decided to go running at the gym. It was too hot to run outside. By 8:30 it was 30C. Anyway, I took my butt off to the gym for a 9km run. All the cardio machines have an emergency stop button and a TV remote connected to them. Less then 10 minutes into my run I ended up in the first aid office with three trainers fussing over me. About 5 minutes in I hit my hand on the emergency stop button. I didn't think anything about it. Then it started to sting, I looked down and my hand was covered in blood. So, I grabbed some paper towels to stop the bleeding. As I have my hand wrapped in paper and am heading to reception to get a band aid one of the trainers saw me and took control. As he and I were stopping the bleeding and getting it cleaned up a couple of the other trainers had sticky beaks and had to come over to investigate. There was talk about stitches because of all the blood they thought it was deeper then it was. Turns out I took pealed a strip of skin off my knuckle. But with all the sweating it looked a lot worse then it actually was. We got it stopped and cleaned slapped a couple of band aids on it and was good to go.

I've come to the conclusion that running outside it better, or at the very least, less dangerous. This was the first time since August that I had run inside. Now that summer is here it looks like I'm not going to be able to sleep in on Sundays anymore.
