Tough B*&^%
I once had a friend tell me that I could be a tough b^&^% at times. I guess today is one of those days. This morning I went for breakfast. I knew that the chef from last semester who always made pancakes was away this semester. I asked the one woman when he was coming back cause he was the only one who made pancakes. She said he was going to be overseas for at least a year, but that the guy working today sometimes makes them. A while later I heard her calling my name. I thought that was kind of weird cause she only calls for people when their eggs are ready and I was already eating mine. The chef had overheard our conversation and made me pancakes. Well, he made a tray of them, but it wasn't until he heard us talking about them. So the tough B*&^% got pancakes made for her.
Then this afternoon she reared her head again. I have a negotiation exercise on Monday so we met this afternoon to go through it. The school here goes for the touchy-feely mutually beneficial horseshit party line. I have been told that it is all good and well that I learn this but once I am out practicing more times then not this approach doesn't work. So, I went in with my ideas (as we were suppose to come up with our own and then get back together to discuss them and decide what we were going to do) Needless to say only one of my ideas got incorporated into the potential agreement, cause I was too tough. Oh well, sucks to be our client cause it looks like we are going to be completely walked all over on Monday. The reason given by my group was that at least we followed the rules. Well, one of the rules we are suppose to follow is to get the best deal possible for our client. How can us accepting all the costs and blame associated with the incident be in our clients best interest?
Needless to say I think the tough B*&^% is going to have to rear her ugly head again come Monday. None the less it is going to be an interesting afternoon. If you happen to hear a bunch of pissed off loud voices just before midnight eastern time it's just my negotiation here.
